My Battle with Online Art Theft

Over the past couple months, I have been relentlessly trying to get unscrupulous drop shipping companies to stop selling my art that is blatantly stolen by Ali Express. The network is so large, so widespread of ruthlessly stealing from small makers, artists and craftspeople from all over the world.
They steal our intellectual property, mass produce them in China and have them drop shipped for pennies to make gigantic profits.

Montreal artist tired of online companies stealing her work

Banerjee encourages people buying art from third-party websites to make sure the company has a deal with the artist. Look for a link to the artist’s page on the website, and not just one but several works by the same artist, often with their signature on them.
“Until people become aware, as responsible buyers, (this will continue),” she said. “These guys are really taking advantage. And it’s not even plagiarism. This is straight-up theft.”

A Black & White moment

Black and white is timeless, it is modern and classic. It can be minimal or decadent. In fashion and decor, art, textiles and ceramics, black and white will transcend language and will continue to hold its appeal for centuries.
I use black everywhere in my work. playing with the positive and negative forms in The Couple, the inky black nothingness of The Abyss. The rendition of a vividly colorful Parrot in black and white patterns which focuses on surface embellishments rather than its color.

The Relaxed Scandinavian-Bohemian style

Scandinavian-bohemian combo is a delectable blend of a scaled-back and insanely stylish version of the free-spirited aesthetic set within the confines of a clutter-free zone. Maybe it's our perpetual state of wanderlust that resulted in this style, maybe it was the need to add color to the neutral, but the end result is this artful mix of a cool "undone" yet curated boho-chic look.

Choosing An Abstract

When choosing a piece of abstract art, choose one that gives you immense joy and excitement all at once. Choose one which makes your eyes dance along its shapes, or colors which draw you in. Choose bold art to make a statement and choose a style that speaks your language. Find large scaled abstracts to create drama, or small ones to balance a room.

Color Soaked Dreams

My love affair with color started young. Like most kids, I loved the vividness of colors and spent hours and hours getting my hand dirty. As I grew into an adolescent, the allure of paint was heady. On my 10th birthday, my father bought me a shiny new box containing 6 pots of the most beautiful poster colors I had ever seen. A simple brush and a mixing pallette. I remember opening the box and inhaling the pungent odor of the viscous paints. Red, blue, green, yellow, brown, black and white.

The Road To Soul Curry

Soul Curry is a piece of my soul in a spiced amalgamation of flavor, texture, forms and shapes to bring forth art which showcase my Indian roots in a modern day context. My style is best descibed as Mad Men Modern. I love bold saturated color, rich textures, layers of expressions and fun whimsical art that stems from all that surrounds me
